When choosing a plus size costume, think about the areas of your body that you are happy to show and those that you wish to cover up. It is important that you feel happy and confident in your costume if you are to enjoy yourself. Many plus size costumes have full length sleeves, often women do not like their upper arms on show. To hide your tummy choose a style which has an empire waistline that falls from under the bust. For example many renaissance style costumes and evil queen costumes have this type of fit. Some of my favorite plus size costumes this year are the plus size Princess Leia costume and the cleopatra costume. For younger curvy women you could try the plus size Batgirl costume.

If you do not like to show your legs, choose a longer length costume or instead of wearing stockings or pantyhose, wear thick opaque tights or leggings instead.

Many people do not like to wear a full costume but you can enter into the Halloween spirit by wearing a wig or a pair of horns, wear some fun spooky costume jewellery, or you could just wear a cloak or a set of wings.

As for large size men’s costumes there is just as much choice in plus size costumes for men,from The Joker to The King of rock and roll, Popeye to Captain Kirk, but my particular favorites are Barnacle Bill and South Sea Sailor available in up to 50″ waist.
