Plus Size Clothing – Trends For Fall 2010

So let’s continue taking a look at plus size clothing and fashion trends for Fall this year. Yesterday we looked at animal print, today we are looking at another bold trend, but one that has a real feminine touch and more than a nod to the 1950s and 1960s. Many designers went retro on the catwalks, and the ‘look’ was definitely “mad Men’ inspired, if you’ve seen the TV show, you’ll know exactly what I mean. But ‘How can a plus size woman pull off that look?’ I hear you cry! Well, it’s all about dressing your curves in a way that accentuates but also flatters, and you know that you own some great plus size clothing that does that, right? Think pencil skirts, fitted jackets, scoop neck blouses, and team with cute retro style handbags and silk scarves tied at the neck, maybe even add a pair of leather or suede gloves.

Nothing looks more sophisticated and glamorous than a woman who really knows how to pull an outfit together. I know I have mentioned before about building a basic wardrobe but it really is the way to go, and you can keep up with new trends by adding accessories. So take your basic pieces, a fitted jacket, and a pencil skirt, or a fuller skirt. Nip the jacket in at the waist with a skinny belt, add gloves and kitten heels and away you go. Plus Size Clothing Looks For Fall

SWAK Designs have recently released a preview of their plus size clothing range for Fall 2010. Fabulous colors, prints and styles. My personal favorite is the Victoria dress, I think I will be able to dress it up and down, for work and for play. Apparently it will also be available in red/grey/black and teal/brown too, gorgeous colors for Fall/Winter. The Dynasty black dress is smoking hot sexy, perfect to see you through dinner dates, drinks with the girls and maybe even team it with knee boots and a bright jacket or wrap, when you want to dress up no matter what the weather.

Plus Size Prom Dresses – with sleeves

So at this time of year, many of you are looking for plus size prom dresses and one of the most popular styles are plus size prom dresses with sleeves. I guess this is because many of us hate showing off our upper arms, or as I remember, I was quite self conscious of my size when I was younger and preferred to be a bit more covered up. I wanted to look great but at the same time I didn’t want to draw attention to the bits of my body that I wasn’t so keen on myself. Infact at my senior prom a wore a wrap which my best friend fashioned into a shrug, it went across my shoulders then under my arms and was fastened with a blinging brooch at the back. This meant that it stayed in place all night and I didn’t have to keep tight hold of it, to stop it slipping on my shoulders. My best friend had a similar version, but because the fabric her wrap was made from was much thinner, she just knotted it at the back.

Finding a prom dress with sleeves, or any plus size evening dress with sleeves isn’t always easy. However I have found a few for you to take a look at.

Once upon a time every woman about town had an evening coat. But these days how easy is it to find plus size evening coats. Not as easy as you would think. I myself had this difficulty last year, when I was invited to attend a formal ball on a cold New York winter evening. At the time I just had to use my trusty long black wool coat and added a velvet scarf for a little panache.
